The future is here.
We have the best solutions.
EcoSmart is an innovative approach to real estate development that combines advanced technologies, partners, products, and construction methods to deliver zero energy capable homes at an affordable price. It’s a comprehensive solution made up of several components designed to create significant value for real estate developers and home builders, save natural resources, and dramatically reduce homeowners’ energy costs.
Comprehensive Solutions Grid
Our EcoSmart Solution approved-vendor installs, engineers, and services the innovative Solar PV systems that work with EcoSmart’s geothermal systems to create zero-energy capable homes. Approved-solar vendors install a high-quality Solar PV system bringing utility-grade design and analysis to every homeowner. Approved vendors are capable of ensuring quality and monitoring all solar energy production and home energy consumption to ensure quality control and customer satisfaction.
The heart of the EcoSmart program is the GeoGrid™, a geothermal district system that uses the earth below our feet to heat and cool the home. Geothermal heat pumps reduce energy consumption for space conditioning by up to 70%. Installed during the early phases of the development, the GeoGrid™ becomes part of the infrastructure, similar to the community-wide water, sewer, and electric utility lines.
Geothermal Heating And Cooling
A geothermal pump uses thermal energy stored in our GeoGrid™ to heat and cool the house using standard ducted ventilation. Importantly, the entire heat pump unit is installed in the house and eliminates any noise pollution in the outdoor living spaces! And we’ve taken the technology one step further by using it to provide domestic hot water, further reducing energy consumption. ESS is only using geothermal heat pumps built by leading manufacturers and they are all Made in America.
Using smart home technology, products are designed to optimize energy use according to each homeowner’s schedule while safeguarding their home itself, integrating more than 10,000 products.
Energy Efficient Home Appliances
Every EcoSmart home is equipped with a highly-efficient and quiet range/oven, microwave, refrigerators and dishwasher — engineered for unsurpassed performance. Optional energy-efficient appliances like refrigerators and washer/dryer combos are also available for an additional charge.
Home Energy Rating System Certification
All homes within the ESS program come with a HERS Certification. A certified and independent Home Energy Rater assesses the energy efficiency of each home, assigning it to a relative performance score. The lower the number, the more energy-efficient the home. The U.S. Department of Energy has determined that a standard new code-built home is awarded a rating of 100. For example, a home with a HERS Score of 70 is 30% more energy-efficient, and a home with a HERS rating of 50 is 50% more efficient. With ESS, the HERS score is generally estimated to be lower than 25 which makes your homes among the most energy-efficient in your market.
Electric Vehicle Charging
The number of plug-in electric cars on North American roads grows every year, EcoSmart stays ahead of the curve by offering EV Charging station as an optional built-in for all ESS homes — charged with the power of the sun, combined with Solar PV.
Using smart home technology, ESS homes are designed to optimize energy use according to each homeowner’s schedule while safeguarding their home itself. The program works with your smart home, integrating more than 10,000 products.
HOME BATTERY SOLUTION
Powering your life with smart, clean, and safe home energy systems. Be an energy pioneer and power your home with cleaner energy, with or without solar. Born of German engineering and American ingenuity, sonnen integrates with any solar system, protects your home from outages before they happen, and stores energy for when you need it.
How We Save
Less Taxing On The Environment & You
With EcoSmart all homeowners are currently eligible for tax incentives available for both solar and geothermal systems. Homeowners can receive a tax credit for their home’s solar photovoltaic (PV system), as well as a tax credit on the geothermal equipment that is on the lot and in the home. This includes the ground-source heat pump (including installation) that drives the geothermal heating and cooling system in each home. The current federal tax incentive (ITC) allows homeowners to currently write off 26% of the value of both systems, which could total between $6,000-$10,000* depending on the size of the home.
EcoSmart Warranty and Service Program
Peace of mind comes standard as part of the EcoSmart program. We have negotiated some of the longest product warranties in the industry – from the geothermal heating and cooling system right down to the smart home components we provide.
